The Start of a Journey: A POKEMON-MODDED Minecraft EXPERIENCE

A modded Minecraft let’s-Play series 💜

Join me! And watch as some of my friends and I embark on a journey in the world of Cobblemon!

Ever since I was a kid, I always dreamed of having a Pixelmon Minecraft server where I played with friends, and captured Pokémon all whilst building dream houses in Minecraft! And now, that’s finally here, that child-like dream has come true at last✨. I know younger me would have been so happy to see this server come to life the way that it did. However, it would not be the same Pixelmon that I had intended at the start of this ambition.

For months, I had been developing a Minecraft server, with the mod Cobblemon (a mod centered around integrating Pokémon into Minecraft, whilst maintaining Minecraft’s blocky aesthetic through the Pokémon’s designs) as a focus to the server. I very much enjoy Cobblemon over Pixelmon because it truly felt as though this mod was a game with Pokémon in it. Where as Pixelmon, felt like a game that has Pokémon in it, if that makes any sense 😅.

Cobblemon has features that are integrated with Minecraft mechanics, making playing Minecraft an essential feature towards unlocking the potential of your Pokémon, and other related features such as crafting medicine, pokeballs, healing stations and more! And on top of that, I really enjoyed Cobblemon’s blocky Pokémon aesthetics because it really made it feel like the Pokémon matched their environment in-game. Which in my opinion, truly added to the emersion that the players felt whilst playing the game.

I also included other mods to complement some of the added features of Cobblemon, such as Farmer’s Delight (a farming mod that adds diverse foods and unique recipes to the game), William Wythers’ (A biome mod that uses Minecraft’s blocks to add more diverse landscapes), Cobblemon Fight or Flight (A mod that brings a realistic touch of aggressive Pokémon to the game) and more that would create more features for the players to enjoy in general.

The CobbleDawg server is a server that I plan to have open for years to come. It’s a server that will always be there, for when I or my players need it. It’s server that’ll bring strangers together, and create friendships from all walks of life. This server, is my dream, and I’m happy to finally see it’s progress come to fruition.

So watch, and tag along on my journey as I’d like to catalogue these experiences so that it may stand against the test of time along with the server itself! As well as creating a pocket of space where those can look back on these experiences and relive the chaotic moments once again.
